This was a short work week with Independence Day, but subs have been going full force since Wednesday. The roofers are back on site installing the gable end shingles, and will finish up the roof around the great room chimney after that. The mason was on site this morning confirming chimney cap sizes, and finishing the edges. He has the crane scheduled for Monday afternoon to set both stone caps. The excavator has finished prepping the sandset great room terrace, and just has to dig the firepit to finish it off. He’ll start in on the master terrace after the crane is gone. The subfloor in the master wing is complete, and the painters will start primer and first coat in there on Monday. Master shower tile is set, and the remaining pieces will wait until the slab shower seat and threshold are set. The sheetrock tapers will return tomorrow to continue work on the great room/kitchen. The sheetrock hanging crew spent the better part of Monday carrying 150 5’x10′ sheets of drywall (100 lbs each) down in to the basement, and will be back next week (after the Insulators finish the basement ceiling). Countertops were installed at the ARU this morning, and the painters are almost finished with stain and lacquer on all the doors, door trim, and window trim. Fates delivered the oak flooring on Wednesday and will start in on install on Monday.
