Bob & Stacey –
A lot happening at the job site as everyone works to complete different parts of the house. The landscapers and masons have been busy outside this week, with the masons finishing the hot tub enclosure, and the blue stone on the east terrace. That stonework was acid washed and then pressure washed today. The landscapers have completed the stone retaining wall around the lawn on the east side of the house, and are working on the steps leading down to the fire pit. They have also been prepping the planting beds, and installing irrigation lines. Inside, John Wonderly has the stairs between the main and upper floors done, and is installing the hand rail. We’ve covered the stair treads, and are using the stairs. I’m sure Stacey will enjoy the stairs more than the ladder. The painters are working in the Guest Master Suite, west end of the Gallery, and will be moving into the Library and Bob’s Office. Jeff has re-patinaed the Library fireplace, and knocked down the bronze highlights. The plumbers have trimmed out the upstairs, and some of the main floor, including Kitchen faucets and disposals. The shower/tub doors for the upstairs and Guest Master Bath were delivered this week, and will be installed early next week. Rodger is continuing with the bunk beds installation, and they look amazing. He did point out that we will need a hand rail, as there are more than 3 treads leading to the upper bunks. We can discuss if we want to match the stair handrail (just the walnut cap piece), or go with something else. The pieces for the Wine Room will be in next week, and he will also work on that remodel. He did install the pulls we had on hand, and the recessed pulls for the Kitchen/Pantry/Family Room are scheduled to arrive on Monday. The electricians are trimming upstairs, and on the main level, and pulling things together in the Mechanical Room. The tile crew is done upstairs, and they are working in the basement, and have started the Kitchen backsplash. They just started the Wine Room floor today, also. Hope to have the Kitchen range hood installed later next week. The drywall is stocked for the Garage, and they will start hanging that on Tuesday. The extra timbers will also be picked up on Tuesday. – – – Dave
