Beautiful weather returned this week to ring in the first day of fall. The site recovered over the weekend and the ground dried out. The crew continued to work on the trusses and roof overbuild, and got a large percentage of the roof sheeted as well. They also worked on the timbers, and we worked out several framing details with Ben, Chris and the engineer.
The fascia, trim, and soffit colors have been decided, and fascia and trim ordered for arrival next week so the painter can stain it before installation. The soffit and siding will be ordered first thing next week after a final decision is made regarding the shade of pewter grey. The shakes and the metal roofing (in colonial red) have also been ordered, and the roofer, despite being very very busy this season, has us on his radar and will get us dried in as soon as the fascia is on.
