This was a tough week weather-wise. We got a good start on Monday – the day was sunny and nice. The crew had trusses and sheeting on the upstairs roof, and continued to roll trusses on the bedroom wing, pantry and office. They also moved around to the timber work on the master porch. Tuesday was a late start due to heavy rains – all told, the crew got a half day of work in. Wednesday the site was extremely muddy and wet, and heavy rain continued to come down; no work on Wednesday. Snow was predicted for today, and we did receive several inches up in the mountains. The forecast went back and forth several times, but the guys ended up working another half day.
I met with the painter regarding the exterior finishes. We will get the exterior finish materials (fascia, soffit, siding, trim) onsite in the next two weeks so he can start to pre-stain it before install.
Tomorrow’s forecast looks good, and it looks like things should have time to dry out over the weekend so we can continue forward progress next week. It was a pretty dreary day for photographs, but the house is looking great!
