Bob & Stacey –

Cold and wet this week, but the cold front is moving out, and the site was dry enough this morning to shed the mud boots.  We poured the footings for the hot tub early in the week, and then poured the walls yesterday.  The concrete crew was back early this morning and stripped the forms.  The concrete will cure enough over the weekend that we will be able to backfill the interior and pour the slab early next week.  Then we will backfill the exterior, and prep. for the terrace.  Great idea to move the tub, it’s in a much better spot now.  The masons are finishing up the Living Room fireplace stone work, and should be close to done today.  They will then move outside to finish up around the Living Room terrace, and we’ll set the Trash Room exterior door so they can finish up that area.  Then on to stone floors.  The carpenters are almost done with the timber trim on the window wall in the stair well, one timber remaining.  That means we can install the Entry wood screen.  I will patina the steel top and bottom rails of the screen this weekend, and we’ll get it assembled and installed next week.  The interior trim is continuing upstairs, and the wood flooring is underway on the main level.  They will be moving down the Gallery next week, and then into the Kitchen and Family Room. Roger is still installing the Mud Room cabinets, lots of scribing to get it all to fit tight to the reclaimed oak paneling.  Jeff Morris is working on the Library fireplace doors/facade, just started cutting the parts this week.  The landscaper has been out to check on progress, and will be starting to screen the topsoil pile soon.     – – – Dave
