After breaking ground last Thursday, dirt is being moved and we’re on our way. Pete’s Excavation started out by clearing the grass and topsoil, and digging the road. Monday morning we met at the site with Chris and Ben to go over the base elevation of the house, and some structural changes to the depth of the footings. Excavation continued through the week, with the surveyor scheduled back this morning to stake the corners. After that, the crew from Roberts Concrete should arrive today to start forming the footings. We are waiting for the new location of the electrical service, which we’ll need in time to run the electrical ground into the footings.

I spoke again with Scott from Evergreen Tree Care. He was in the area and offered to take a look at the trees slated for removal, so he should be familiar with the property if you decide to get in touch with him.

The weather so far this week has been good – occasional afternoon thunderstorms, with steady rain yesterday and expecting a little more precipitation heading into the weekend. Next week we’ll continue with the foundation forming, and hooking up temporary power to the site. We will also move a job office trailer to the site within the next few weeks.

The photos below were taken this morning (and I couldn’t help throwing in a photo of the Tetons – taken from the end of Cottonwood Drive). It’s a beautiful site, and a we’re looking forward to seeing your home develop.
